Santa's grotto surprise for Blackpool children's charity

Santa's making kid's lives better in Blackpool!

Santa’s arrival at Houndshill Shopping centre this weekend will help to support vulnerable local children and young people who may be less fortunate and for some whose Christmas won’t be quite so magical.

The centre has teamed up with local charity, Aspired Futures, who provide long-term, life-changing support and therapeutic services for children and young people who face severe challenges including poor mental health and complex needs.

For every £1 spent visiting Santa and handing over that all-important list to the big man, every penny will go towards helping the charity.

Houndshill has become a winter wonderland with Santa and his elves taking up residence in a purpose-built grotto. All visitors will receive a special treat as they wait to meet the centre’s special guest.

Sue Williams, Head of Services at Aspired Futures, said: “We are delighted that Houndshill have chosen us as their charity partner for Santa’s grotto. The money raised from the grotto means we can continue to offer our supported children and young people a bespoke support package and make positive changes to their lives.”

Debbs Lancelott, manager of Houndshill Shopping Centre, said: “We are always delighted to work with local charities and the work Aspired Futures does helps change so many young people’s lives across Blackpool.

“It’s always a pleasure to put something back into the community and we cannot think of a more worthwhile cause which do so much good for vulnerable children and young people in the resort.”
